Vehicles in German City Found Smeared with Nazi Symbols in Blood, Law Enforcement Report

Authorities reported they were notified by a resident who noticed a car in Hanau covered with red-colored liquid

Around 50 automobiles have been covered with what appears to be human blood in the German city of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, police confirm law enforcement.

Automobiles, exterior walls and postboxes were vandalized, sometimes with swastikas, they announced in a statement.

Officers report they were contacted during the night on Wednesday evening, when a individual observed that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been covered with a red-colored substance.

The substance had been drawn in the form of a swastika, they added.

Officers then discovered multiple other smeared vehicles and house walls in the surrounding area.

Swastikas are illegal in Germany under regulations banning the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.

Law enforcement say preliminary tests show the liquid was most likely human bodily fluid.

"At present there remains no indication as to its origin; officials are presently not aware of any injuries in relation with the incident," they commented.

City officials announced they were attempting "to resolve the case" and have asked to the community for information.

An important official stated the attack rendered him without words and needed to be addressed promptly.

"This act affects the core of Hanau and reopens the pain of the extremist attack in 2020," he wrote on social media, mentioning the death of nine individuals by a assailant targeting individuals of immigrant origin in 2020.
